Senior Electrical Systems and Components Engineer

Vattenfall, a leading European energy company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Systems and Components Engineer to join its Offshore Engineering team in Hamburg or Kolding. As a key member of the WTG Electrical System Team, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of electrical systems and components for wind turbines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on wind turbine generator and transformer technology. You will be responsible for assisting the Engineering organization with operational control of wind turbines, both electrical and mechanical, and will work closely with colleagues across various European locations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Engineering organization with operational control of wind turbines, including electrical and mechanical aspects.
- Develop and implement best practices for electrical systems and components in the wind industry.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address technical challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development and implementation of technical solutions for wind turbine electrical systems and components.
- Conduct root cause analyses and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Investigate predictive maintenance strategies for wind turbine electrical systems using FMECA.
- Support the projects during the Technical Due Diligence and contract phase.
- Establish relationships with internal stakeholders, including operation and maintenance, project managers, and suppliers.
- Prepare technical requirements for projects and clarify them during the preparation of contract documents.
- Review design documentation from suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Develop and maintain power system protection philosophies for wind turbines and networks.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in wind turbine electrical systems and components.
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
- Broad-based theoretical knowledge and practical foundation in electrical engineering.
- Required knowledge and experience in wind turbine generator and transformer technology, wind industry project engineering, and trouble-shooting within components and complex mechatronic systems.
- Preferred knowledge and experience in offshore wind industry, debugging of fault events on wind turbine and park level, and data analysis tools such as Python, Matlab Simulink.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills for close cooperation with various departments in an international environment.
- Good language skills in English, with additional languages such as Danish, German, or Swedish being beneficial.
- Flexible approach to travel for visiting OEMs and turbine inspections at site or workshop.
