Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Systems and Components Engineer to join our team at Vattenfall. As a key member of our Engineering organization, you will play a critical role in the operational control of our Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) and contribute to the development of best practices in the industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the Engineering organization with operational control of WTGs, both Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Build up knowledge on Electrical and Mechanical topics, create and deploy best practices for the industry.
  • Support the Operational phase by assessing technical solutions, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on main component level, and ensuring technical integrity of components and systems.
  • Provide technical and project-based expertise into the business, leveraging extensive experience in Electrical design of modern wind turbines and wind farm systems.

Key Qualifications:

  • M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering or comparable.
  • Broad-based theoretical knowledge and practical foundation.
  • Required knowledge/experience in WTG Frequency Converter Technology, Wind industry project engineering, and Trouble-shooting within components and complex mechatronic systems.
  • Preferred knowledge/experience in Offshore wind industry with its state-of-the-art technology, Debugging of fault events on WTG and park level, and Python, Matlab Simulink or comparable data analysis tools.

Location: The role will be based in Hamburg or Kolding, with travelling to other Vattenfall offices expected.
