Optimize Vehicle Dynamics as a Mechatronic System

Exciting Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to work on developing the chassis as a mechatronic system at IAV. The role involves researching current trends in automated driving, digitalization, and high-performance computing. Your main task will be to develop an optimal control strategy to improve vehicle dynamics by integrating various control functions. This includes conducting in-depth literature reviews, building a functional architecture, developing control strategies, and validating the results.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive literature review on current vehicle dynamics control systems to identify best practices and areas for improvement.
- Design and build a functional architecture using Matlab/Simulink to integrate various control functions.
- Develop advanced control strategies using multi-variable and model predictive control to optimize vehicle performance.
- Design control strategies for different driving modes to ensure seamless transitions and optimal performance.
- Integrate control strategies into a vehicle simulation environment to test and validate their effectiveness.
- Compare and validate control strategies based on objective criteria to ensure the best possible results.
- Provide regular progress updates to the team to ensure transparency and collaboration.
- Document the findings and results of the project to ensure knowledge sharing and future reference.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Vehicle Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in physical modeling and simulation.
- Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink or Python programming languages.
- Basic knowledge of Machine Learning and its applications in vehicle dynamics.
- Preferably, knowledge of vehicle dynamics and chassis systems to ensure a deep understanding of the subject matter.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and team player skills to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
