Develop Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control System

About the Project:
The development of the vehicle's suspension as a mechatronic system is a rapidly growing field driven by current trends such as autonomous driving, digitalization, and high-performance computing. In the current vehicle suspension, various regulation functions for longitudinal, lateral, and vertical dynamics are integrated. To further increase safety, comfort, and agility of the vehicle, an integrated vehicle dynamics regulation is proposed, which combines existing regulation functions and presents an integrated solution. The goal of the project is to develop an optimal regulation strategy to achieve improved vehicle dynamics through the interaction of individual actuators (steering, drive, brake).
Your Tasks:
- Research the state of the art in current vehicle dynamics regulation and integrated vehicle dynamics regulation.
- Design a functional architecture of the integrated regulation in Matlab/Simulink.
- Develop the regulation strategy (multi-variable regulation, model predictive regulation).
- Design the regulation with regard to various driving modes (sporty, comfortable, energy-efficient, etc.).
- Integrate the regulation into a vehicle simulation environment.
- Validate and compare the developed strategies using objective evaluation criteria.
- Regularly present the current progress.
- Document the contents.
Required Knowledge:
- You are currently enrolled in a Master's program in Vehicle Technology, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- You have experience in the field of physical model building.
- You have knowledge in development environments such as Matlab/Simulink or Python.
- You bring basic knowledge in the field of machine learning.
- Preferably, you have basic knowledge in vehicle technology, particularly in the field of suspension and vehicle dynamics.
- You demonstrate a self-responsible and initiative working style in terms of technical development.
- You approach challenges confidently and your well-developed communication and team skills make you stand out.
Compensation:
The compensation is based on our collective bargaining agreement. Currently, the monthly salary for this position is 979 EUR.
