In this position, you will become part of an elite team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers dedicated to the ongoing development and enhancement of the globally recognized Robotic Assisted Surgery platform within the Surgical Operating unit.

A Typical Day in This Role
Based in our offices, as the Lead Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the embedded software development initiatives within the Software Center of Excellence of the Surgical Robotics Organization. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of embedded software engineers and cross-functional teams to fulfill requirements definition, design, code implementation, unit testing, and system verification and validation. Additionally, you will engage in scrum activities and may take on the role of scrum master or product owner as project demands dictate. You will also assist the team in evaluating and enhancing existing processes.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience in developing and troubleshooting embedded systems
- Comprehensive understanding of Linux, QNX, or other operating systems
- Experience in software architecture design
- Proven track record of leading an engineering team
- Experience in developing software for robotic systems
- Familiarity with medical devices
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum/SAFe software development methodologies
