Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer or Information Technology Engineer to join our team at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR). As a key member of our Digital Electronics group, you will be responsible for the development of embedded systems for sensory acquisition and control of complex robot systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement embedded systems using the C programming language on microcontrollers and system on chips.
- Develop algorithms for the control of robotic joints, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant standards such as EN ISO10218.
- Integrate the EtherCAT deterministic fieldbus into our control systems for real-time communication and control of robot joints and sensory detection.
- Design, analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot electronic systems and components.
- Develop measurement software for the commissioning of electronic components using programming languages such as ANSI-C and Matlab.
- Select and operate suitable measuring equipment for commissioning, analyzing, and troubleshooting electronic components.
- Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to improve the reliability and performance of our robots.
- Completed scientific university degree in engineering, such as electrical engineering or information technology.
- Knowledge of programming embedded systems, particularly with the C programming language.
- Understanding of electrical engineering and real-time communication.
- Knowledge of circuit development.
- Knowledge of robotics, mechatronics, and control engineering.
- Experience with the EtherCAT fieldbus and system on chips is an advantage.
