Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an automation team and take on technical management of employees.
  • Design and implement automation and high-throughput solutions for BASF laboratories, pilot plants, and external partners.
  • Initiate and manage innovative research projects on automation, digitalization, and measurement methods.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive activities, and university research in your field.
  • Use and expand internal knowledge, establish operational and scientific partnerships, and ensure compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • University degree in chemistry, engineering, or physics with a doctorate.
  • In-depth knowledge of scientific method development and automation of measuring equipment.
  • Experience in data analysis and programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Matlab).
  • Knowledge of physical chemistry, especially colloid chemistry, is an advantage.
  • Ability to develop high-throughput technologies, openness to new ideas, and technical implementation skills.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Strong determination, performance, innovation, customer orientation, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Strong data awareness and digital skills to solve scientific problems.
