Job Title: Senior or Principal Statistician with Focus on Non-Clinical Research

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Statistician to join our Biostatistics and Data Sciences team. As a key member of our global organization, you will play a crucial role in driving smart, timely, and confident decision-making at every stage of drug development, approval, and access.

About the Role

As a Senior or Principal Statistician, you will be responsible for planning and executing all data analytic aspects in non-clinical studies and projects, including experimental design, data analytics, and data transformation. You will also apply traditional statistical methods and combine them with cutting-edge data science methods in designing, collecting, and analyzing data from research and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute data analytic plans for non-clinical studies and projects
  • Apply statistical methods and data science techniques to analyze and interpret data
  • Develop and implement data transformation and reporting processes
  • Collaborate with scientists and experts from various disciplines to drive decision-making
  • Lead and guide other colleagues and internal/external partners on statistics and data science-related tasks
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc), Master of Science (MSc), or Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge of statistical methodology, design of experiments, and basic terminology related to pharmaceutical research and development
  • Proficient knowledge of and hands-on experience in relevant software languages, such as SAS and R
  • Experience in providing statistical support and demonstrated hands-on experience in statistics questions from pharmaceutical research and development
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within and outside of our organization
  • Oral and written communication skills to interact in interdisciplinary teams and effectively explain, visualize, and communicate statistical information to non-statisticians
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English
Additional Requirements for Principal Position
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge and experience in planning, transforming, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting from complex non-clinical studies and projects
  • In-depth knowledge and experience regarding advanced statistical concepts and relevant software languages
  • Advanced project lead experience and exposure to agile project management
