Job Title: Senior or Principal Statistician with Focus on Non-Clinical Research

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Statistician to join our Biostatistics and Data Sciences team. As a key member of our global organization, you will play a critical role in driving smart, timely, and confident decision-making at every stage of drug development, approval, and access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute all data analytic aspects in non-clinical studies and projects, including experimental design, data analytics, and data transformation.
  • Apply traditional statistical methods and combine them with cutting-edge data science methods in designing, collecting, and analyzing data from research and development.
  • Develop methodologically sound, pragmatic solutions and present compelling data stories to drive informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with scientists and experts from various disciplines to deliver high-quality results.
  • Lead and guide other colleagues, internal and external partners on statistics and data science-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc), Master of Science (MSc), or Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge of statistical methodology, design of experiments, and basic terminology related to pharmaceutical research and development.
  • Proficient knowledge of and hands-on experience in relevant software languages, such as SAS and R.
  • Experience in providing statistical support and demonstrated hands-on experience in statistics questions from pharmaceutical research and development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within and outside of our organization.
  • Oral and written communication skills to interact in interdisciplinary teams and effectively explain, visualize, and communicate statistical information to non-statisticians.
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English.

Additional Requirements for a Principal Position

  • Demonstrated broad knowledge and experience in planning, transforming, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting from complex non-clinical studies and projects.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience regarding advanced statistical concepts and relevant software languages.
  • Advanced project lead experience and exposure to agile project management.
