Inpatient Patient Care Specialist

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Inpatient Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a key member of our hemodialysis healthcare team, you will provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients in accordance with our policies, procedures, and training.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care under the direct visual supervision of a Registered Nurse or in a treatment room immediately adjacent to an RN.
- Report and document all new and unusual incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN.
- Promote and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
- Support the FMCNA commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAI) Activities.
- Perform and record pre and post-dialysis evaluations, weight, and vital signs with initial identification.
- Initiate renal replacement treatment according to prescribed orders, including setting blood flow rate and dialysate flow rate or peritoneal dialysis as prescribed by the attending nephrologist.
- Collect, label, and ensure timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory per facility policy.
- Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician's order or as directed by FMCNA RN.
- Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures.
- High School Diploma required.
- 1-2 years' related experience.
- Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Certification (CCHT) certification.
