Teaching Assistant - The Future of Europe (gn)
part-time (8 hours per week).
The teaching assistant will aid in the instruction of the CIVICA Multicampus course focused on The Future of Europe. This course represents the fourth iteration of a collaborative initiative organized by CIVICA - The European University of Social Sciences. It critically examines significant European policy issues and is jointly designed and delivered by a consortium of professors from various partner institutions. The course will be conducted synchronously across all CIVICA campuses through a series of live online lectures. Additionally, students will engage in collaborative projects across countries and disciplines, culminating in a final capstone project addressing specific policy challenges. Students at the Hertie School will also participate in weekly labs led by a teaching assistant, where they will engage in discussions regarding lecture content.
Your responsibilities include:
- Attending weekly lectures (12 sessions of 120 minutes each);
- Preparing and facilitating discussions on all course topics during weekly seminars (12 sessions of 90 minutes each);
- Coordinating activities across the network;
- Proctoring and evaluating mid-term examinations;
- Supporting and advising capstone project teams from CIVICA member institutions and grading select final capstone assignments;
- Providing general student support, primarily addressing inquiries.
Your qualifications:
- Strong understanding of European politics;
- Excellent teaching abilities and the capacity to lead interactive discussion groups;
- A Master's degree in the Social Sciences.
