Are you passionate about robotics and eager to make a significant impact in life-science research? As a Lead Hardware Developer at goodbot, you will play a crucial role in the heart of our development team. We are a cutting-edge robotics startup in Germany, dedicated to revolutionizing biomedical research with innovative technology. Our flagship product, the goodbot, is a pioneering agile pipetting assistant designed specifically for researchers. It automates the critical but often manual and error-prone pipetting process, enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and preventing strain injuries among researchers.

As a member of our team, you will work both independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to design, develop, and test the hardware aspects of goodbot. This position offers a rich experience in electronics, robotics, mechanical engineering, and life sciences. You will have the opportunity to lead the design and development of new hardware features, ensure the hardware design aligns with product requirements and user needs, and collaborate with the software team to integrate hardware and software seamlessly.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of new hardware features

  • Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging of hardware components
  • Research and implement new and emerging technologies to enhance product capabilities

  • Mentor and guide junior hardware engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Embedded Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in hardware development, particularly in robotics or automation
  • Proficiency in CAD software and hardware design tools
  • Strong understanding of electronics, microcontrollers, and sensor integration
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
