Business Development Reinsurance Accountant

About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled and ambitious Business Development Reinsurance Accountant to join our team at Talanx AG in Hanover. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for setting up and developing a modern accounting structure for our cedents in Latin America.
The ideal candidate will have professional education in economics or comparable studies, along with work experience in insurance and/or reinsurance, financial or technical accounting. Additionally, knowledge of reinsurance accounting systems such as ProRis, Re7, or SAP FS-RI is highly desirable.
In this role, you will verify and balance reinsurance data to process statements of accounts and balances for Talanx AG and Talanx Reinsurance Broker. You will also be responsible for quality management, coordination, and timely delivery of accounting data to internal and external clients.
The successful candidate will collaborate with our development team to optimize technical tools and applications used within the accounting process. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with internal and external clients in an internationally diverse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and development of a modern accounting structure for Talanx cedents in Latin America
- Verification and balancing of reinsurance data
- Quality management, coordination, and on-time delivery of accounting data
- Collaboration with the development team to optimize technical tools and applications
- Communication with internal and external clients
Requirements:
- Professional education in economics or comparable studies
- Work experience in insurance and/or reinsurance, financial or technical accounting
- Knowledge of reinsurance accounting systems (ProRis, Re7, or SAP FS-RI)
- Ambitious and empathetic team player with excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software, as well as tools for handling large datasets (SQL, Power-BI)
- Fluency in German and English, with additional languages such as Portuguese or Spanish being an asset
