Senior Risk Management Consultant

BDO Luxembourg is seeking a Senior Risk Management Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Risk Management Advisory team, you will be responsible for coordinating and following up on various missions, focusing on risk management, regulatory, and compliance topics in the banking industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and follow up on different missions, working on assignments related to risk management, regulatory, and compliance topics in the banking industry;
  • Assist clients in preparing Regulatory Reporting (COREP, FINREP...);
  • Conduct modeling and/or independent reviews and validation of risk models (PD, LGD, IRRBB, etc.) and related risk management processes;
  • Set up, review, improve, and validate capital and liquidity management frameworks, including the internal capital/liquidity adequacy allocation process (IC/LAAP);
  • Support credit institutions in setting up and reinforcing their crisis management arrangements, i.e., capital and liquidity contingency planning and recovery and resolution planning;
  • Conduct gap analyses, materiality assessments, reports, and recommendations for clients on any risk management-related regulation in force;
  • Develop a business offering based on client needs;
  • Develop detailed project plans, anticipate risks, and plan mitigations ahead of time;
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals (project acquisition) to support business line development;
  • Contribute to the management of relationships with clients;
  • Assist and foster the development of the BDO Advisory Management Consulting offering, together with the consulting Partner and the Risk Management Advisory team;
  • Be part of a dynamic and growing business line within BDO Luxembourg.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in management, finance, economics, or comparable professional education in relevant fields;
  • 2-4 years of experience in the financial sector;
  • Experience in risk management and deep knowledge of the banking regulatory environment in Luxembourg;
  • Experience in managing multiple projects at a time and being deadline-driven;
  • Fast learner with the ability to understand complex matters in a short time, with high motivation and curiosity;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive, resourceful, and adaptable;
  • Very strong communication skills and the ability to express yourself precisely, coherently, and concisely;
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel framework, CRR/CRD, SREP, BRRD, EBA Guidelines, CSSF Circulars, etc.);
  • Proficient in MS-Office, VBA, Access, PowerBI. Knowledge in SAS/R/Matlab/Python is a plus;
  • Hold one or more industry certifications (FRM, CFA, PRM, CAIA...);
  • Fluent in English (written and oral). French or German is a great asset.
