Sustainability Transformation Backend Developer

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team at Code Gaia, a Munich-based startup that offers an easy-to-use SaaS solution for companies to capture, optimize, and communicate their environmental, social, and governance sustainability indicators.

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing robust backend solutions using Python, Django Rest Framework, and AWS. You will collaborate with a cross-functional scrum team to take up medium to large technical work independently, design, code, and launch new features, and develop and maintain our API with a focus on security and reliability.

We are looking for a passionate engineer who thrives on collaboration and constructive feedback, is proficient in Python and its ecosystem, particularly Django and Django Rest Framework, and has experience with databases, data modeling, and object-oriented programming.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop robust backend solutions using Python, Django Rest Framework, and AWS.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional scrum team to take up medium to large technical work independently.
  • Design, code, and launch new features.
  • Develop and maintain our API with a focus on security and reliability.
  • Stay-up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in engineering.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Backend developer with 2+ years of experience in web development and cloud computing.
  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proficient in Python and its ecosystem, particularly Django and Django Rest Framework.
  • Experience with databases, data modeling, and object-oriented programming.
  • Strong communicator who thrives on collaboration and constructive feedback.
  • Passionate about continuous learning and applying new technologies.
  • Fluent in English.
  • You're located in Germany.
