We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. As a research assistant, you will be working on the development of a sophisticated base controller with a slippage estimation for our outdoor robot CURTmini.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement novel concepts for slip estimation and wheel velocity control based on wheel rotation speed and torque measurements, as well as information from the robot localization system.
  • Regularly test and evaluate the performance of your algorithms on our outdoor robot CURTmini.
  • Collaborate with our team to integrate your work into our existing robotics system.

Requirements:

  • Background in Computer Science, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Profound knowledge of C/C++ and experience with ROS.
  • Enthusiasm for mobile robotics and a strong passion for innovation.
  • Fluent in English or German.
