Job Summary

The AMTC Program Manager is a key position in Workforce Development at Tallahassee Community College, reporting directly to the Director of Business and Industry. This role is responsible for driving the short-term and long-term goals of the AMTC, with a primary focus on developing and delivering technical manufacturing training. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing technology, materials science, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of project management experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the AMTC, ensuring the quality and efficiency of customer service, performance, program outcomes, and community outreach.
  • Supervise the AMTC staff, developing work schedules, preparing staff assignments, and overseeing scheduling, performance evaluations, and staff development activities.
  • Develop and oversee the annual budget for programs, including monthly billing, annual closeout documents, and assistance with audits.
  • Assist with grant writing, establish cooperative linkages and partnerships within the community, and serve as the AMTC liaison with faculty, community agencies, and other colleges and universities.
  • Ensure that information made available in the AMTC is current and consistent with the information being made available on the main campus, and develop and maintain a current and comprehensive occupational library.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Business and Industry and the IT Department to ensure the availability of hardware, software, internet, and information systems to support the delivery of courses and programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Manufacturing Technology, Materials Science, Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of project management or related experience required; a master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Preferences include two years of experience in a manufacturing setting, two years of post-secondary teaching in a technical area, or demonstrated experience in leading a post-secondary institution technical program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of TCC policy and procedures, project development and management, office procedures and practices, administrative principles and practices, and best practices in training.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet software, and other software, as well as effective oral communication, human relations and interpersonal skills, marketing and sales, and the use of appropriate technology in training.
  • Ability to market and sell training and other services provided by the college, collaborate with other TCC employees, learn and use a HCM Application Network (Workday), interact with all levels of the public, and represent the college in a professional manner.
