Job Summary

We're seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Policy and Government Affairs to join our team in the DACH region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will develop and execute a comprehensive government relations and policy strategy to drive Via's success in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key policymakers and their staffs to ensure Via's policy stances are known at the regional, national, and EU levels.
  • Develop and advocate for Via's positions on legislation and regulations that impact our business, and identify opportunities for policy outcomes that drive growth.
  • Represent Via and its vision for improving cities to the broader political and policy community, building partnerships with key stakeholders, including NGOs, think tanks, and academic institutions.
  • Draft official written materials, including op-eds, blog posts, policy proposals, and comments on regulations.
  • Manage public policy firm and consultant engagements on targeted projects.
  • Work effectively within industry coalitions and develop industry contacts to advance areas of common interest.
  • Represent the company at policy conferences and other forums.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in policy and government affairs.
  • A strategic thinker and day-to-day executor who can juggle multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to articulate strategic objectives and demonstrate knowledge of government, politics, and political affairs.
  • Native-level German is a must, with French and Italian being a plus.
