Automotive Design Lead

Xiaomi Technology is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Designer to join our team and contribute to the creation of innovative and aesthetically pleasing vehicle designs. As an Automotive Designer at Xiaomi, you will be responsible for developing design concepts for both exterior and interior components, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that designs are practical and manufacturable.
Key Responsibilities- Concept Development: Create innovative design concepts for vehicle exteriors and interiors, developing sketches, renderings, and 3D models to communicate design ideas, and ensuring that designs align with brand identity and market trends.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product planners, and marketing teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals, participate in design reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
- Execution: Develop detailed design specifications and CAD models for production, oversee the development of prototypes and mock-ups, and ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.
- User-Centered Design: Conduct user research, including interviews and usability testing, to gather insights, create user personas, journey maps, and experience flows to inform design decisions, and ensure designs provide an exceptional user experience.
- Trend Analysis and Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor designs, and emerging technologies, conduct competitive analysis to benchmark against leading automotive designs, and integrate insights from research into design proposals and iterations.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automotive Design, Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Alias, CATIA, Rhino, Photoshop, and other industry-standard tools.
- Portfolio: A compelling portfolio showcasing a range of innovative automotive designs and successful projects.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Passionate about automotive design and innovation.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of aesthetics and usability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
