PhD Researcher in System Architecture Engineering

Job Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our Navigation Solutions department. As a PhD researcher, you will be responsible for developing System Architecture Engineering capabilities required to define future System of Systems (SoS) Satellite Navigation architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify requirements of navigation (Precision, Safety, Availability) for key users
  • Define components of Satellite Navigation solutions, existing (GNSS, SBAS) or in development (LEO PNT, 5G/6G)
  • Develop candidate architectures for Satellite Navigation SoS using MBSE modelers
  • Apply Multi-Criterion Optimisation to assess architectures
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a similar field
  • Strong knowledge of System Engineering/System Architecture, MBSE, and MBSE modelers, Ontologies
  • Good knowledge of Navigation, Safety and Embedded systems
  • Fluent English is mandatory, German and French would be a plus
