PhD Researcher in Space-Based System Architecture

Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled PhD researcher to join our team at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH. As a PhD student, you will be working on the definition of a space-based system of system architecture for safety-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop System Architecture Engineering capabilities required to define future System of Systems (SoS) Satellite Navigation architectures.
  • Identify requirements of the navigation (Precision, Safety, Availability) for each key user.
  • Capture different Satellite Navigation solutions and package them in terms of components which can be instantiated in an MBSE modeler.
  • Define candidate architectures for Satellite Navigation SoS and assess them from a Multi-Criterion Optimisation point of view.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of System Engineering/System Architecture, MBSE, and MBSE modelers, Ontologies.
  • Good knowledge of Navigation, Safety and Embedded systems.
  • Fluent English is mandatory, German and French would be a plus.
