We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Support Engineer to join our award-winning EDA sales organization.

Job Overview

The Siemens EDA Global Support team is looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to provide top-notch technical support for our Xpedition Enterprise tools suite, with a focus on EDM Server and data management.

As a key member of our technical support team, you will work closely with internal and external customers to resolve tool issues, partner with account teams to educate users and grow product usage, and create knowledge content for our web-based support portal.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively assist customers in becoming productive with the Xpedition EDM Server and its related tools.
  • Provide timely and effective support to customers via phone, electronic means, or on-site visits.
  • Engage with existing customers to understand and provide guidance on the implementation and maintenance of the Xpedition EDM Server and related design flow tools.
  • Collaborate with account teams to overcome challenges and develop solutions for customer issues.
  • Interface with customers and Electronic Board Systems engineering to provide feedback and drive improvement.
  • Regularly participate in meetings and conference calls with customers, both internal and external.
  • Capture knowledge for web-based support systems in the form of articles, white papers, and videos.
  • Provide proactive customer feedback to product marketing and engineering to drive improvement and future evolution of the product line.
  • Actively participate in marketing and sales activities, such as workshops and seminars.
  • Provide first-line support for all tools in the Xpedition EDM tool suite.
Requirements
  • System administration experience.
  • Broad knowledge of basic networking technology.
  • LDAP/Active Directory.
  • SSL.
  • Kerberos.
  • Performance monitoring.
  • Virtualization.
  • Low-level application troubleshooting.
  • FlexLM Licensing.
  • Scripting (Linux shell, Windows batch file, Power Shell, or similar).
  • Experience working with Oracle or PostgreSQL-based data systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently but collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving product and technical environment.
  • Ability to build strong rapport and credibility with customers' organizations while maintaining an internal network of contacts.
  • Manage multiple tasks and customer issues concurrently.
  • Strong technical communication skills and presentation skills.
  • BSEE or BSME, senior industry experience desired.
  • Proficiency in English and German.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the administration of PCB design tools such as Xpedition Enterprise, Cadence Allegro, Altium, or similar.
  • Detailed knowledge of the ECAD Library development and design data management. Siemens Xpedition Enterprise EDM preferred.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and C#.
  • Strong project management and communication skills – both written and verbal. Prior project management experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in other languages common in the EU.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Role will be hybrid with some flexibility in location.
  • Will support discussions in various time zones, so virtual meetings outside of home time zone will sometimes be necessary.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
