Head of Insurance Management and Risk Control

Job Description:

As a key member of the Commerz Real AG team, the Head of Insurance Management and Risk Control will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive insurance strategy tailored to the specific needs of our product areas and operating companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and implement a departmental strategy to ensure adequate insurance coverage for Commerz Real AG, its affiliated companies, and managed assets.
  • Collaborate with risk management units to identify, classify, and evaluate insurable risks throughout the lifecycle of an asset.
  • Coordinate internal and external claims management to minimize losses and optimize insurance coverage.
  • Communicate with all product areas of Commerz Real AG on insurance-related topics and provide expert advice.
  • Select and manage cooperation partners to ensure quality assurance in insurance placement under economic and legal considerations.
  • Monitor and analyze insurance markets and products to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Review and optimize insurance-related measures for risk prevention and develop policies and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Lead employees through example and collaborative dialogue to foster a culture of risk awareness and insurance expertise.
  • Maintain and continuously develop the department's IRM system to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prior experience in a similar position related to the management of international assets in the insurance industry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with typical contract and program forms of relevant sectors in international business is essential.
  • Understanding of requirements from various contracts such as credit, construction, purchase, lease, and operating contracts is crucial.
  • Initial leadership experience, willingness to take responsibility, and drive initiatives forward are essential qualities for this role.
  • Self-identification as a service provider and advisor to departments and clients is vital for success in this position.
