Job Description

As the Insurance Management Director at Commerz Real AG, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive insurance strategy that aligns with the company's specific needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Insurance Strategy: Design and execute an individual departmental strategy, tailored to the specific needs of the product areas and operating companies, and implement it in daily operations.
  • Ensure Adequate Insurance Coverage: Ensure that Commerz Real AG, its affiliated companies, and managed assets always have adequate insurance coverage.
  • Risk Identification and Assessment: Identify, classify, and evaluate insurable risks, in collaboration with all units involved in risk management, throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Claims Management: Coordinate internal and external claims management.
  • Insurance Expertise: Communicate and advise on insurance-related matters to all product areas of Commerz Real AG.
  • Partner Selection and Management: Select, manage, and ensure quality control of cooperation partners for insurance mediation or direct placement of coverage.
  • Market and Product Analysis: Monitor and analyze insurance markets and products.
  • Continuous Risk Review: Lead the continuous review of insurance-related measures with the goals of risk prevention and optimization of insurance protection.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Develop insurance-related policies and guidelines.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead employees through example and partnership dialogue.
  • IRM System Development: Maintain and develop the department's IRM system.
  • International Experience: You have already worked in a similar position, managing international assets (real estate, renewable energy, etc.), in the insurance industry.
  • Contract and Program Knowledge: You are familiar with common contract and program forms in the relevant sectors of international business, including their specifics.
  • Contractual Requirements: You are familiar with requirements from credit, construction, purchase, lease, and operator contracts.
  • Leadership Experience: You have gained initial leadership experience, take responsibility, and drive your topics forward.
  • Service and Advisory Role: You understand yourself as a service provider and advisor for the departments and customers.
