Job Title: General Ledger Accountant with focus on Romania

We are seeking a highly skilled General Ledger Accountant to join our team at KWS Berlin GmbH in Berlin. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing all transactional and knowledge-based general ledger processes, including general ledger postings, accrual accounting, intercompany accounting, asset accounting, and group accounting.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Adjust open intercompany items and execute intercompany reconsolidation
  • Prepare financial statements and execute local closing according to IFRS and LOCAL-GAAP
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Execute all activities on quarter closing that lead to a timely and correct delivery of financial statements: posting of petty cash, HR accruals and salaries, other accruals, posting of depreciation assets, IFRS 16 and 9 and deferred taxes
  • Execute and spar on operational activities within all General Ledger area regarding monthly, quarterly and yearly closing of GTC
Your Profile:
  • Academic degree in Business Administration, Certified Accountant or similar
  • Proven experience in the field of Romanian accounting and preferably IFRS
  • Experience in relevant IT systems (MS Office and ERP)
  • Fluent in English and Romanian
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage high-volume transactions
  • Excellent communication skills, cooperative and teamwork attitude
  • Analytical skills, a hands-on mentality and extraordinary service attitude
