Join Our Team as a Lead Data Scientist in Insurance

Boston Consulting Group is a global management consulting firm that partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our rapidly growing insurance practice.

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be part of our BCG X team, which owns the full analytics value-chain end to end. You will have the opportunity to apply data science methods and analytics to real-world business situations across the insurance sector to drive significant business impact. Our team helps companies identify and develop growth opportunities that reshape the future of the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of data scientists and engineers to build innovative new products and analytics solutions in BCG's fast-growing insurance practice.
  • Develop and deliver thought leadership on data science and analytics in the insurance sector.
  • Collaborate with partners and managing directors to drive business growth and development.
  • Provide expert advice on data science and analytics to clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant industry work experience in an insurance company or insurtech startup providing advanced analytics solutions.
  • Advanced degree in a field linked to business analytics, statistics, or geo-statistics.
  • Strong record of professional accomplishment and leadership.
  • Deep technical and data science expertise, acute strategic and analytical skills, ability to lead and persuade, drive and energy, and desire to work in a project-based environment.
  • Fluency in at least one coding language (Python).
