About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist Lead to join our team at Flexa. As a key member of our data science team, you will be responsible for leading the technical implementation of data science initiatives and projects, from ideation and model development through deployment and maintenance.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, machine learning, and optimization, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding our data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

In this role, you will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product and business goals. You will also be responsible for driving technical excellence, contributing to our open, data-driven engineering culture, and staying at the forefront of scientific innovation in the energy sector.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical implementation of data science initiatives and projects
  • Mentor and guide data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Drive technical excellence, contributing to our open, data-driven engineering culture
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product and business goals
  • Stay at the forefront of scientific innovation in the energy sector
Requirements
  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
  • 7+ years of industry experience in applied data science or machine learning
  • 4+ years of industry experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing data science initiatives
  • Proficiency in software development and software practices, with strong expertise in Python
  • Extensive hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models in production
  • Experience in working in the cloud, ideally AWS, with an emphasis on data and machine learning tools
