About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Expert to join our team in Pain Research at Merz Therapeutics. As a key member of our Nonclinical Sciences & Operations department, you will play a crucial role in shaping our development pipeline and contributing to the growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and evaluate external studies, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Evaluate in-licensing candidates for preclinical profile as part of due diligence projects
  • Maintain and expand a CRO network
  • Develop innovative treatment concepts for Botulinumtoxin Type A NT201
  • Support initiatives for our Foundational Products (PK-Merz, Memantine, Hepa-Merz)
  • Support Medical Affairs and Marketing through preclinical publications

Requirements:

  • Academic degree and PhD in natural sciences
  • Hands-on experience in pharmacology, preferably in vivo and in vitro
  • Clear track record in pain research is a must
  • Experience in conducting preclinical studies with CROs or collaboration partners
  • Knowledge of electrophysiology and cell culture is a plus
  • Fluent in English language with excellent scientific writing skills
  • Innovative, analytical, and creative mindset
  • Excellent communication/networking and presentation skills
