Mission Overview

We are seeking a
Product Design Intern (f/m/x) to oversee user research and maintain the design workflow of ecoligo's investment platform, ensuring seamless integration with our software development process.

This internship offers a 6-month opportunity to acquire practical experience and enhance your skills.


We are looking for a well-organized, driven, and empathetic individual who will collaborate with ecoligo's Product and Engineering teams, as well as our clients (investors), to identify their needs and create innovative solutions that address real-world business challenges.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Deepen your understanding of the product lifecycle (from ideation to execution)
○ Develop functional prototypes using Figma, based on user stories from Jira
○ Design user flows in Figma for Engineers

  • Grasp time-budget constraints when making design recommendations
○ Participate in quality assurance during implementation as part of your sprint duties and provide feedback to Engineers

  • Learn and apply our design methodology for product deliverables
○ Implement ecoligo's design process and align it with our software development cycle
○ Validate design solutions from both business and usability perspectives with relevant stakeholders
○ Confirm design solutions from a technical standpoint by conducting feature breakdown meetings with the Product Manager and Engineering Team prior to development

  • Conduct user research
○ Gain experience in planning, executing, evaluating, and documenting essential user research (primarily user interviews) for new features and large-scale initiatives
○ Enhance your communication skills by presenting research findings and potential solutions to the product team and stakeholders, guiding product prioritization to ensure high-value functionality is developed
○ Ensure our research questions are well-defined and deliver meaningful insights promptly

  • Engage in user workshops
○ Create boards and online materials for moderating both online and in-person workshops in FigJam
○ Assist in establishing clear research objectives and outcomes
○ Develop your skills in workshop facilitation and management
Candidate Profile

  • Native German speaker or B2 level, as you will engage with our customers during user interviews regarding financial topics
  • Proficient in English, as it is our operational language. You will document design decisions and user interview results in English
  • Completion (or nearing completion) of a bachelor's degree in Design, preferably with a focus on Technology, UX/UI, Web products, or at least one UX/UI bootcamp completed in the past year
  • Familiarity with adhering to a specified design system and component principles
  • Capability to conduct engaging user interviews and online research
  • Participate in the ideation of design research workshops
  • Maintain a portfolio showcasing your research and design projects (user flows, journey maps, prototypes) online (no PDFs please)
  • Solid experience with Figma (our prototyping tool) and FigJam (our workshop and retrospectives tool) is highly desirable
  • Understanding of agile software development processes and collaboration with development teams
