We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Bilingual and Cultural Mediator for our Youth Housing Project in Mölln.
About the Role
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs to support the independence of teenagers in our care.
- Collaborate with our management team to create a safe and supportive environment for the youth.
- Engage in daily activities and leisure time with the youth, promoting their personal growth and freedom.
- Adapt to the needs of the youth, providing individualized support and guidance.
- Contribute to the development of our pedagogical concept, participating in team meetings and supervision sessions.
- Support colleagues as a language and cultural mediator, facilitating communication with the youth.
- Accompany youth to appointments with healthcare professionals, authorities, and educational institutions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in multiple languages, including Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Somali, French, and English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish strong relationships with the youth and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Empathy, patience, and assertiveness, with a commitment to promoting the well-being and safety of the youth.
- Strong intercultural competence, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
