About the Job

We are seeking two Language and Culture Mediators to join our team at IB Nord in Mölln. As a Language and Culture Mediator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily lives of young people and working closely with our team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with young people to create a safe and supportive environment, promoting their independence and self-determination.
  • Assist in the daily lives of young people, including accompanying them to appointments and providing translation services.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement programs that promote cultural understanding and language skills.
  • Provide support and guidance to young people, helping them to navigate their daily lives and make informed decisions.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure the smooth operation of our youth accommodation.

Requirements

  • Excellent language skills, with proficiency in Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Somali, French, English, and other languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in a youth accommodation setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
