Overview:

Ferring Pharmaceuticals is a leading company in the pharmaceutical industry, and we are seeking an experienced Medical Director Lead to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our cluster medical affairs team, providing medical/scientific leadership, and serving as the face of Ferring with authorities, patient organizations, and external opinion leaders.

The role involves interacting with external scientific and clinical experts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creating strategic plans to achieve global medical affairs targets. The candidate will also oversee the execution of local medical operations, provide hands-on guidance when needed, and ensure compliance with GCP, SOPs, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of Cluster Medical Affairs Team
  • Medical/scientific leader and face of Ferring with authorities, patient organisations and external opinion leaders
  • Interaction with external scientific and clinical experts in relation to cluster, regional and global activities
  • Collaboration with cluster cross-functional teams create and implement strategic and operational plans in the cluster/country
  • Lead Medical operations in the Cluster Oversee execution by local medical team and where appropriate provide hands on
  • Compliance with GCP, SOP ́s, guidelines and regulatory requirements within the countries/cluster
  • Medical/scientific Input, oversight and execution of data generation activities

Requirements:

  • University Medical or Scientific degree
  • Higher life science qualification (PhD, PharmD) optional
  • Ideally Business degree (MBA)
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Pharmaceutical Industry or Biotechnology Companies
  • Significant experience in Medical Affairs, including design and oversight of clinical studies
  • At least 5 years of management or leadership experience
  • Current working knowledge of legal, regulatory and compliance regulations and guidelines
  • Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and clinical operations
