PCB Layout Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled PCB Layout Designer to join our engineering team at Emerson. As a PCB Layout Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality PCB layouts for our leading-edge embedded computer platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement PCB layouts for assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams on-site and globally during board development.
  • Participate actively in designing reviews, investigating, evaluating, and implementing new PCB technologies and processes.
  • Coordinate technical activities within Engineering, Test, and Manufacturing.
  • Maintain tool chain and support internal engineering in resolving PCB design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors.
  • Proactively participate in the evolution and definition of Design For Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines, manufacturing, and electrical design issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in PCB layout design.
  • Experience in component library maintenance.
  • Understanding of driving PCB technology and process trends.
  • 'Can-do' attitude with experience of working on own initiative within a changing environment.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art development and simulation tools.
  • Goal-oriented, responsible way of working and proactive communication style in project work.
  • Fluency in English, German knowledge desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics design tool chain including EDM.
  • Experience in using signal and power integrity tools (HyperLynx SI/PI). Basic expertise in industrial regulatory standards and safety.
