Requirements Engineer for Battery Management Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Requirements Engineer to join our team at Bertrandt. As a Requirements Engineer for Battery Management Systems, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of requirements for our battery management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement requirements for battery management systems, ensuring compliance with system requirements and components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define functional architecture and create functional descriptions and interfaces for electric powertrain systems.
  • Conduct concept development for specifications at the system/subsystem level, including powertrain/battery/motor.
  • Develop, evaluate, and map model-based requirements for vehicle platforms.
  • Model and simulate electric powertrain systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings to track requirements and change requests.
  • Implement agile work structures, such as Scrum, to ensure efficient project management.
  • Evaluate and analyze use cases at the system/vehicle level to ensure compliance with system requirements.
  • Develop new system technologies as research projects to enhance efficiency.
  • Adjust electrical component requirements to optimize system performance.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in battery management systems (BMS) in industry or university projects.
  • Practical experience in requirements, change, and release management with Codebeamer or IBM DOORS.
  • Strong MATLAB/Simulink skills and experience with model-based software development.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
  • Understanding of vehicle electronics and software architecture.
  • Fluent English skills and German language proficiency a plus.
