Senior Associate in Gene Therapy Purification Development Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate to join our team in Gene Therapy Purification Development at Roche. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technologies and processes for process development, production, and characterization of recombinant viral vectors with a focus on AAV.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects to develop and implement technologies that improve manufacturing processes for viral vectors focusing on AAV.
- Develop strategies to improve manufacturing productivity, robustness, and efficiency.
- Identify, develop, and implement new technologies used in the development and manufacturing of viral vectors.
- Proactively execute projects by applying technical knowledge and practical skills in a laboratory and pilot plant setting and provide guidance and oversight for production in a GMP setting.
- Maintain a connection to the field by contributing to, attending, and presenting at scientific meetings, publication of scientific advances, and interacting with the academic community.
- Contribute to improved process understanding and insights by working with digital tools and in our data ecosystems.
- Contribute to the submission of applications for clinical trials and marketing authorizations.
- Provide training and supervision for technicians and students.
About You
- You hold a Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Virology, or another related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- You have hands-on experience in the field of AAVs and virus vector technology, including small/pilot scale production and process development.
- You are highly motivated and flexible to work on challenging projects with often uncertain outcomes.
- You are a team player but also have the ability to work independently with excellent planning and organizational skills.
- You foster a collaborative and trusting relationship and enjoy working in an international environment.
- You are a continuous learner; looking to increase your technical and business knowledge while also learning new practical skills.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with success in influencing others.
- English skills, written and spoken, are mandatory.
