About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Service and Development Scientist to join our team in Wiesbaden, Germany. As a key member of our Technical Service and Development (TS&D) group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing products to meet the needs of our Wire & Cable customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new products and technologies to meet customer needs and market trends.
  • Provide technical support to customers to ensure successful implementation of our products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical unmet needs in new product developments.
  • Collect and translate market opportunities into technical unmet needs at all members of the value chain.
  • Charter new projects with clear descriptions of project scope, timeline, and value assessment.
  • Complete development work using the Scientific Method, carry out literature reviews, formulate technical hypotheses, develop test plans, and provide conclusions and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Polymer technology.
  • Fluency in English is a must, and other European languages are a plus. Willingness to learn German is appreciated.
  • Experience in cable extrusion, plastics/polymers processing, material characterization, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of Telecom market (Copper Wire and Fiber Optical Cable) and Power transmission and flame-retardant technologies is a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel within EMEA region up to 30-40%.
