About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our team at Embl-Ebi. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our organisation, ensuring the effective delivery of our mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organisation, ensuring the effective delivery of our mission and goals.
- Develop and implement effective operational plans, ensuring the efficient use of resources and the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of senior administrators, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of our services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including colleagues, partners, and external agencies.
- Ensure the effective management of budgets, resources, and risk, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organisation.
Requirements
- Proven experience of senior leadership and management, preferably in a research or academic environment.
- Strong background in administrative and operational leadership, with experience of delivering effective support services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Financial competence, with experience of managing budgets and resources.
- Ability to contribute to the development of the organisation's strategic and financial plans.
