About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our team at Embl-Ebi. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our organisation, ensuring the effective delivery of our mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organisation, ensuring the effective delivery of our mission and goals.
- Develop and implement effective operational plans, ensuring the efficient use of resources and the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of senior administrators, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of our services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including our Board of Directors, senior management team, and external partners.
- Ensure the effective management of our budget, including the development and implementation of financial plans and the monitoring of expenditure.
- Provide leadership and guidance on organisational development, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of leading and managing teams of senior administrators.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems.
- Experience of financial management, including budgeting and financial planning.
- Experience of organisational development, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Fluency in English and German, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
