About the Role
As a Search Experience Lead, you will be focused on improving the search experience for our users. You will have a strong understanding of search relevance and experience in improving search results using text and semantic matching algorithms and NLP techniques. You will also have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing career development of team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the engineering excellence within the search tribe
- Own end-to-end delivery of team's projects
- Ensure continued service reliability and timely technical support for all stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Data Science to define and drive product roadmap
- Manage career development of people in the team through continuous coaching and mentoring
Requirements
- 2+ years experience of leading a cross-functional team as an Engineering Manager
- Bachelor/Master's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Similar
- Experience working with Elasticsearch/Solr/Lucene and building scalable information retrieval systems
- Strong coding skills in Java and extensive experience in building performant large-scale services
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP, AWS
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate it to solve problems
- Effective communication and ability to explain complex work in simple terms to team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership
