Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Devexperts. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing our Oracle and Postgres database systems to ensure high performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement database structures based on business requirements
  • Identify and resolve performance issues, optimize queries, and proactively monitor database performance
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Implement and maintain database security measures to safeguard sensitive data
  • Investigate and resolve database-related issues, provide technical support to users, and collaborate with developers and other IT staff
  • Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Plan and execute database upgrades and apply patches to ensure the latest features, security enhancements, and bug fixes
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Installation and administration of Oracle Database 19c and Postgres 13 and forward
  • High availability environments (Failover or RAC)
  • Disaster Recovery Environments (Data Guard)
  • Backup and restore using RMAN
  • Hands-on experience with table spaces, indexes, partitions, and query performance tuning
  • Creation, migration, maintenance, and administration of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases in different environments (Production, Pre-Production)
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Docker Management, and Liquidbase
  • Experience in tasks automation and advanced knowledge of information technology necessary for performing work duties
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with Foglight, Ansible (AWX), and Java programming language
  • Knowledge of trading/exchange/risk management software usage and Atlassian software (JIRA, Confluence, FishEye, etc.)
