Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Resource Manager to join our team at Brooks Automation. As an Engineering Resource Manager, you will be responsible for the optimal utilization and management of resources across multiple engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assign the right specialists to projects based on their availability and expertise.
  • Create and maintain resource allocation plans to ensure that all teams work efficiently and avoid overloads or bottlenecks.
  • Monitor resource utilization and capacity to ensure projects are realistically planned and executed.
  • Forecast future resource needs based on current and upcoming projects.
  • Ensure sufficient personnel and material resources are available to meet project requirements.
  • Identify and address risks related to resource shortages or overlaps that could jeopardize project success.
  • Develop contingency plans to identify and resolve resource issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with functional managers to ensure the necessary resources are available for all project phases.
  • Coordinate between different project teams to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and minimize conflicts in resource use.
  • Track the progress of resources in each project and generate reports on the resource status.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to management and functional managers to ensure transparency regarding resource deployment.
  • Analyze resource utilization and implement optimization measures to maximize efficiency.
  • Introduce processes that promote the continuous improvement of resource utilization.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts in resource allocation between different projects.
  • Reprioritize tasks and projects in case of resource conflicts or bottlenecks.
  • Support clear communication between various engineering departments and other involved teams.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed about the status of resource distribution and potential changes.

Requirements

  • Experience in industries such as software, mechanics, or electronics to understand the needs of various teams.
  • Knowledge of project management methods (e.g., Agile) and tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar software solutions.
  • Ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to mediate and coordinate between different engineering disciplines to resolve conflicts.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills (German & English) to report the resource status and project progress to stakeholders and functional managers.
  • Ability to identify resource shortages and proactively develop risk mitigation strategies.
