Aircraft Quality Control Inspector Job Description
The Aircraft Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of aircraft maintenance and repair. This role requires a strong understanding of aircraft systems and the ability to inspect and analyze complex mechanical and electromechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and analyze aircraft systems to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Conduct quality control inspections and tests to identify defects and areas for improvement
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective and efficient maintenance and repair processes
- Monitor and report on quality control metrics and trends
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience required
- FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 Public Trust
- US Citizenship required for deployment to Germany
Germany Specific:
- TESA Approval: Must be able to qualify for TESA approval with 5 years career Aviation maintenance experience in the last 5 years
- Travel: As required in support of task order
Knowledge & Skills:
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles
- Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures
- Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair or replacement of new parts
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
- Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds
