Transforming Transportation with Via

Via is revolutionizing the way the world moves, and we're looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Policy and Government Affairs Principal. As a key member of our team, you will develop and execute a comprehensive government relations and policy strategy for Via in the DACH region, with opportunities to work at the EU level and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key policymakers and their staffs to ensure Via's policy stances are known at regional, national, and EU levels.
  • Develop and advocate for Via's positions on legislation and regulations impacting our success in various markets, while generating opportunities for Via's business through policy outcomes.
  • Represent Via and its vision for improving cities to the broader political and policy community, building partnerships with key stakeholders, including NGOs, think tanks, and academic institutions.
  • Draft official written materials, including op-eds, blog posts, policy proposals, comments on regulations, and formal correspondence.
  • Manage public policy firm and consultant engagements on targeted projects.
  • Work effectively within industry coalitions and develop industry contacts to advance areas of common interest.
  • Represent the company at policy conferences and other forums.
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience guiding you.
  • A strategic thinker and day-to-day executor who can juggle several issues at once, effectively considering and solving both short and long-term problems.
  • Execution-oriented, a self-starter who takes action and achieves tangible results.
  • Excellent communicator with demonstrated writing, editing, and speaking skills, able to articulate strategic objectives and have a deep knowledge of government, politics, and political affairs.
  • Experience managing relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders across different countries.
  • Native-level German is a must; French and Italian are a plus.
