The research team, led by Prof. Panu Poutvaara, is dedicated to understanding the factors influencing migration and the integration of immigrants. A significant aspect of this research is to explore how migration can benefit migrants, host nations, and countries of origin.
Key Research Areas
- Promoting successful integration of migrants.
- Investigating the economic implications of migration.
- Analyzing the role of remittances and migrant contributions to both host and origin countries.
Current projects are centered on the return plans and integration outcomes of Ukrainian refugees across various European nations, utilizing ongoing surveys conducted in Germany and other European countries.
Expectations from Candidates

Qualifications
