About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the ifo Institute, a leading economic research institute in Europe. As a member of our junior faculty, you will contribute to our research on policy-relevant questions in economics, with a focus on the economics of migration and integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in the field of economics of migration and integration, using applied econometric analyses to contribute to solutions for current societal challenges.
  • Conceive, acquire, manage, and work on third-party funded projects, collaborating with our team to develop innovative research ideas.
  • Guide doctoral candidates and publish research results in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.
  • Communicate research findings to the public and media, making your research accessible and relevant to a broad audience.
About Our Team

Our team, led by Prof. Panu Poutvaara, studies the causes and consequences of migration and immigrant integration. We aim to promote successful integration and generate gains for migrants, host countries, and countries of origin. Our current focus is on return plans and integration outcomes of Ukrainian refugees in various European countries.
