Studio and Residency Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Residency and Studio Manager at coGalleries GmbH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating our art residency program, managing our studio space, and overseeing the logistics of our art tours.
Key Responsibilities- Artists Management: Coordinate with resident artists, handle their scheduling, and ensure they have access to the studio and other facilities when needed.
- Program Planning and Execution: Plan, implement, and manage the art residency program, including creating schedules, planning workshops, events, and exhibitions.
- Liaison with Galleries: Act as the primary point of contact between resident artists and galleries that may host their work, arrange and attend meetings, and handle negotiations.
- Studio Management: Oversee the studio space, ensure it is maintained properly, manage inventory of art supplies, and handle any required repairs or upgrades.
- Art Tours Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and lead art tours that include visits to galleries and artist studios.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date records of residency participants, their artwork, residency activities, and events.
- Promotion: Promote the residency program and the artists involved through online and offline platforms.
- Communication: Handle communication between the residency program, artists, and the public, answering queries and providing information about the program, artists, artwork, and events.
- Feedback and Reporting: Regularly collect feedback from artists, gallery visitors, and tour participants, and report to senior management.
- Budget Management: Help manage the budget for the residency program, studio, and tours, keeping track of spending and providing regular reports.
- Qualification and Skills: A degree or working towards a degree in arts administration, project management, fine arts, or a related field is desirable.
- Project Management: Initial experience or demonstrated understanding of project management, including planning, organization, and execution of various tasks.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German and/or other languages would be a plus.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic computer software, including MS Office, and familiarity with project management tools and software.
- Knowledge of the Art Industry: An understanding of the art world, familiarity with current art trends, and knowledge of Berlin's local art scene would be highly advantageous.
- Passion for Art: A genuine interest in and passion for contemporary art and the art industry.
- Creativity: The ability to think creatively and out-of-the-box, to solve problems and enhance the residency and studio experiences.
- Initiative: A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently, take the initiative, and manage various tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to a dynamic start-up environment, which may involve irregular hours and varied tasks.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team, displaying good interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
- Attention to Detail: Careful attention to detail, to ensure smooth running of the residency program and studio, and the quality of all public-facing communications.
