Job Summary

TÜV SÜD Global Risk Consultants, a global leader in property loss control, has an opening for a Fire Protection Consultant - Property Loss Control – Fire based in Japan.

Your responsibilities will include:

Completing the TÜV SÜD GRC new employee training program.

Conducting Loss Control Surveys for prospects and clients.

Performing plan review services.

Managing your own workload.

Developing technical expertise to provide services to increasingly complex risks.

As your experience and skills increase, responsibilities will expand to include:

Client Loss Control Surveys - Conducting property loss control surveys to evaluate the property and business interruption exposures at client facilities based on NFPA Standards and others as appropriate.

Developing recommendations based on standards to include loss estimates before and after completion of the recommendations.

Evaluating automatic fire protection and water supply systems.

Reporting and evaluating building construction, occupancy, special and natural hazards.

Developing loss estimates based on scenarios such as the Maximum Foreseeable Loss.

Providing training and peer review for other consultants; serving as a technical resource to other consultants.

Services provided to clients include training, loss control program development, code or regulatory interpretation.

May prepare and present proposals, develop service instructions, solicit client feedback and prepare stewardship reports.

Work assigned is typical of higher technical need as well as being in direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers.

Professional conduct and excellent written/verbal communication skills are required as the position requires direct contact with client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers.

Providing project management services to include special visits, plan reviews, and oral/written presentations to clients.

Requirements

Having a four-year college degree or higher.

Being disciplined and motivated to manage assigned work.

Applying technical knowledge to client needs to assist in the business decision-making process.

Being able to: climb ladders; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; stoop, crouch, crawl; traverse catwalks
