Job Title: Gas and Water Installation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Gas and Water Installation Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing skilled repairs and maintenance work on new or existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs skilled repairs and maintenance work on new or existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.
  • Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and layout the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment.
  • Removes, cleans, replaces, packs, and seals items such as valves, pipes, elbows, drains, sinks, and faucets.
  • Repairs basins, baths, and toilets.
  • Unplugs clogged drains.
  • Performs soldering and welding work.
  • Uses the tools of the trade.
  • Performs electrical and carpentry work at the semi-skilled level.
  • Drives military vehicles in the performance of official duties.
  • Fills out trip tickets and performs driver's maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.
  • 5 years of specialized experience.
  • Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent.
  • 8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
  • Valid driver's license class B and ability to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
  • English Level A1 and German Language Proficiency Level B2 required.
