Tenure Track Group Leader Position

We are seeking a highly qualified researcher to lead a tenure track group in fish ecophysiology at the Leibniz-Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing an independent research program focused on the physiological mechanisms that enable fish to survive and thrive in different aquatic environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct experiments to investigate physiological responses to environmental change.
  • Develop and lead a research group in fish ecophysiology, including supervising students and early career researchers.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at scientific conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the institute and participate in interdisciplinary research projects.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in biology, ecology, physiology, or a related field, with a specialization in fish ecophysiology.
  • Proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques, such as respirometry, biochemical assays, and other physiological measurements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research team.
