Job Summary:

U.S. Army Europe and Africa is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Dispatcher to join our team at the USAG Fire Alarm Communications and Control Center. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for receiving and processing emergency calls, dispatching responders, and coordinating responses to fires and other emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process emergency calls from multiple sources, including fire alarm systems and emergency phone lines.
  • Dispatch responders, including U.S. Army fire department personnel, host nation fire mutual aid departments, and emergency medical services providers.
  • Coordinate responses to fires and other emergencies, including activating remotely facility systems and providing updated orders to responding units.
  • Monitor and re-evaluate situations based on additional incoming information, and make decisions to redirect responders as needed.
  • Log all information into various documentation systems, including manual and electronic records.

Requirements:

  • E&T Level I (completed lower secondary school / Hauptschulabschluss) PLUS German certification as basic fire fighter (abgeschlossene Feuerwehrgrundausbildung, gemaess Feuerwehrdienstvorschrift 2 (FwDV2)).
  • Completed training in accordance with the guidelines of the US Forces Fire Prevention Program.
  • Current employees who do not meet the basic educational requirement above and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 years of creditable general experience.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain host nation equivalent National Emergency Medical Technician (NEMT) certification.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD certification as Firefighter I & II, Driver Operator Pumper, DOD HAZMAT operations, Host Nation SCBA certification (Ausbildung zum Atemschutzgeraetetraeger gem. FwDV 2), HN radio communicator training (Ausbildung zum Sprechfunker gem. FwDV2), dispatcher (FEZ Grundlehrgang) and DOD Telecommunicator II.
  • Must be able to obtain valid host Nation certification to service and recharge fire extinguishers.

Working Conditions:

  • The incumbent of this position is required to perform TDY occasionally.
  • Work on holidays and weekends as well as 24-hours shift work required.
